The CHAR SQL Function in MySQL and MariaDB - String of character codes |
|
| CHAR | Syntax: | CHAR(Charcode [, Charcode ...] [USING Charset]) | Return value: | CHAR | Function type: | String function | |
| | The CHAR() function returns a character string of characters made up of the code values of one or more "Charcode" arguments.
By default, CHAR() returns a binary string, but the character set can be specified using the USING clause.
Floating point values are rounded to integer numbers.
Strings are interpreted as numbers, returning CHAR(0) for invalid values.
NULL values in the arguments are skipped. | SQL Examples for the CHAR function |

The function takes one or more numeric arguments, representing ASCII codes, and returns a string consisting of the appropriate characters. The function can be used, for example, when generating strings based on ASCII codes, when manipulating character data, or when performing custom string conversions in certain applications. | | Further MySQL und MariaDB SQL String functions | CHR | CHR(Character code) | More about CHR Function |
