The DAYOFYEAR SQL Function in MySQL and MariaDB - Day of year from date

DAYOFYEAR	Syntax:	DAYOFYEAR(Date)
	Return value:	INTEGER
	Function type:	Date and Time function

Function Description

The DAYOFYEAR() function returns the day of the year of "Date" in the range 1 to 365, for leap years 366.

The "Date" argument must be of type DATE or DATETIME.

For invalid dates like 0000-00-00 that have a 00 day part, the function returns NULL.

If the value for "Date" is invalid or NULL, the DAYOFYEAR() function returns NULL.

How to use the DAYOFYEAR() function in MySQL and MariaDB databases

Both in MySQL and in MariaDB the function DAYOFYEAR() can be used to get the day of the year of a specific "Date" or "Date and Time" expression. The function returns an integer value representing the day of the year in the range 1 to 365, or 1 to 366 in leap years. Column names or other expressions can also be used as arguments in order to be able to work with date calculations or date comparisons with the day of the year in queries or to perform various operations based on the day of the year.
